Crispy Spicy Chickpeas
"As far as I’m concerned, it is summer. The temperature, cicadas, and the desire to snack more than eat a full meal are my clues that summer has taken up residence in my world. I’m glad. This means more salads, grilling, creative food planning and maybe more time for R & R with friends. All that said, this snack idea is perfect for everything. I rinsed 2 cans of chickpeas and dried them. I drizzled GO-On Tap both Persian Lime and Roasted Chili oo over to coat. Then I used several spices, feel free to make your own blend. I used granulated garlic, cayenne, ancho chili, cumin, cocoa powder, ginger, nutmeg, paprika, coriander, white pepper and lime zest. Coat the chickpeas and bake in the oven until crispy. I set my oven to the air-bake setting, 350 degrees for 35 minutes, then stirred and watched for another 10 minutes. Once out of the oven and slightly cooled, I sprinkled parm cheese over and let cool completely. These would be a great topping for a salad or hummus. Prefer a sweeter side? Use GO-On Tap Blood orange oo, some cinnamon and sugar and sprinkle on ice cream. No matter what, these are great snacks from mid-morning pick-up to appetizers with drinks. Sit. Eat. Enjoy.“
